Pennsylvania – Authorities say a pair of crooked Pennsylvania dental office employees ran an after-hours, word-of-mouth operation where they performed root canals, pulled teeth and installed braces without proper training. A grand jury report alleges 45-year-old dental assistant Cheryl Laing (right) and 24-year-old receptionist Jessica Gullickson used the Bryn Mawr dental practice where they worked to provide low-cost services to uninsured patients. One patient reported a tooth extraction was a painful 45-minute ordeal and another said the receptionist was left to “find the root”‘ during a root canal.

Maryland – A federal employee was formally reprimanded for excessive workplace flatulence, a sanction that was delivered to him in a five-page letter that actually included a log of representative dates and times when he was recorded “releasing the awful and unpleasant odor” in his Baltimore office. The worker, a 38-year-old Maryland resident, reportedly submitted evidence that he suffered from some medical conditions that, at times, caused him to be unable to work full days. But a SSA manager noted in the reprimand letter that, “nothing that you have submitted has indicated that you would have uncontrollable flatulence. It is my belief that you can control this condition.”

The letter’s author wrote that the employee’s conduct had been “discourteous, disrespectful, and entirely inappropriate,” and was worthy of a formal sanction, which is placed in a worker’s personnel files for up to one year. The reprimand, the manager noted, “is the least severe penalty available to impress upon you the seriousness of your actions and is necessary to deter future misconduct.”

Clinton, North Carolina – The parent of a 10-year old Union elementary school student have filed a complaint against the school for strip-searching their son to find an allegedly stolen $20 bill.
In a complaint filed against assistant principal Teresa Holmes (picture) the family of Clinton, N.C., fifth-grader Justin Cox allege their son was ordered to remove his socks, shoes, pants and shirt so the principal could conduct a manual search for a $20 bill that was eventually found on the floor in the cafeteria. “She came up to him and rubbed her fingers around inside of his underwear,” Cox said. “If that isn’t excessively intrusive, I don’t know what is.” However, a teacher came into the office at the same time and said that the money had “miraculously” been found on the floor of the cafeteria.

ORANGE CITY, Florida – An Orange City man was arrested on allegations of trying to kill his wife by sticking her face in their dog’s water bowl and drowning her. Richard Watson, 47, was arrested on charges of committing a felony that could cause death, felony battery and battery charges. Police said Watson complained about his meal and threw it on the ground before tackling his wife and putting her head in the dog’s water bowl. He held his wife’s head in the bowl until she nearly passed out, according to police, who said he then choked her. The dog bowl was 5 inches across and about 3 inches deep, “enough for a face to fit in,” police said.

New Mexico – Obsessed killer Dana Martin (picture) allegedly put a $2,500 bounty on each of Justin Bieber’s testicles as he outlined a plot to kidnap, castrate and strangle the teen pin-up. Jailed Martin – who sports a Bieber tattoo on his leg – is accused of arranging for two other men to abduct and murder the singer, his bodyguard and two more unrelated victims. According to court papers, he recruited Mark Staake to execute his plan after becoming convinced Bieber had snubbed his efforts to contact him. Staake’s nephew Tanner Ruane was later drafted in on the plot. Having declared the bounty on the 18-year-old’s private parts, Martin then ordered his accomplices to strangle the baby singer with a paisley tie, it is claimed.

UK – An ill-advised stunt by a pair of Australian shock jocks took a tragic turn when a nurse they tricked into divulging confidential information about the royal baby committed suicide.
Jacintha Saldanha, a nurse at King Edward VII Hospital, where pregnant Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was being treated for morning sickness, was the butt of the cruel joke. The deejays, posing as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, coaxed Saldanha into giving an update on the condition of Middleton, wife of Prince William. On Friday, officials announced Saldanha had taken her life.
The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time, the spokesman said. Officials did not immediately say if there was as suicide note or if Saldanha’s death was directly linked to the hoax, which generated widespread outrage in Great Britain.

Ohio – An Ohio community college forced a construction crew to remove its “Men Working” sign after the sign was deemed sexist and non-inclusive by a college administrator. The construction crew at Sinclair Community College in Dayton was forced to stop working until the sign had been removed. The controversy started when a female employee took issue with the “Men at Work” sign. Murka said the employee suggested several alternative phrases to the hard hats – including “construction zone.” He said the construction worker complied with the college’s demands and removed the sign.

CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee – A Clarksville woman has been charged after admitting to police she lied about being raped. Police said Lynette Lee admitted to a Clarksville detective last week the rape claim she had made earlier in the month was false. She said she had only made the claim because she did not enjoy the date. Lee had told police that after meeting up with a man she met online at Meetme.com, she and the man had gone back to a hotel together. According to a report, Lee said once at the hotel the man removed her clothes and, despite her protests, had sex with her.

PALM COAST, Florida – A Palm Coast man is charged with child neglect after sheriff’s deputies said he left a pit bull to baby-sit a 10-month-old while he went out drinking. James Irvine, 41, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. According to investigators, the baby’s mother left Irvine in charge while she went to work. The woman told investigators when she got home, Irvine was trying to get in the garage door and admitted he’d been at a bar. Officials said Irvine told the baby’s mother the baby wasn’t alone, because the pit bull was watching him

Trio Of 13-Year-Old Boys Busted For Knifepoint Condom, Candy Robbery At Walgreens
Three 13-year-old boys are facing armed robbery charges in connection with the knifepoint robbery of condoms and candy from a Walgreens store in Wisconsin.
The trio was nabbed after boarding a municipal bus to make their getaway Friday night from the pharmacy in Madison, according to police. Cops reported that the boys, whose names were withheld due to their ages, were confronted by a manager when he spotted them trying to boost the candy. After following the trio outside the Walgreens, the man told police, “at least two, and maybe all three, of the boys brandished knives.” Additionally, one of the teens threw a stolen $15 package of condoms at the store manager, while another boy shouted, “Don't you call the (expletive) police!” After collaring the boys, cops recovered three steak knives from the young suspects. One boy said he carried a knife for protection, while another claimed to have been “cutting food earlier and had forgotten he had left the blade in his pocket.”
Each boy was booked into Madison’s Juvenile Reception Center on a variety of charges, including armed robbery, retail theft, and carrying a concealed weapon

EVERETT, Washington – An Everett man was sentenced to six months in jail for the stabbing death of his former girlfriend’s parrot. Richard J. Atkinson, 63, pleaded guilty last month in Snohomish County Superior Court to first-degree animal cruelty and second-degree domestic-violence malicious mischief. He’s been held at the Snohomish County Jail since the attack. Police alleged that Atkinson was alone at the former couple’s Everett home when he killed the bird with a serving fork and then trashed the house.

MANATEE, Florida – A woman was arrested for allegedly attacking her boyfriend after they had sex in Bradenton, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. Raquel Gonzalez, 24, and her boyfriend were having sexual intercourse about 4:40 p.m. at their home in the 2900 block of 31st Avenue East. Gonzalez was not satisfied and began hitting and scratching her boyfriend’s face, according to the sheriff’s office. Gonzalez, who refused to answer questions, was belligerent and uncooperative, the report concludes.
