SEVERED HEAD OF GENITAL DISEASE SAINT FOR SALE

Ireland - A decapitated head, said to be that of St Vitalis of Assisi, the patron saint of genital diseases, will be sold at an auction in Co Meath. The macabre object, which is housed in a Queen Anne case, is being sold by an Anglo-Irish family based in Co Louth. Saint Vitalis of Assisi (there are a number of saints with the name Vitalis) was an Italian hermit and monk who died in 1370. He became a saint despite an early life marked by licentiousness and immorality. However, in an attempt to atone he went on pilgrimages to various sanctuaries

WASHINGTON TEEN GIRL SHOT FATHER WITH ARROW AFTER HE TAKES AWAY HER CELL PHONE

TAHUYA, Wash. – Authorities in Washington state say they're arrested a teenage girl for allegedly shooting her dad with an arrow after he took her cell phone away. Mason County detective William Adam says the man told officers that his 15-year-old daughter used a hunting bow to shoot him Wednesday evening after he grounded her and took the phone. KOMO-TV reports he was airlifted from the rural, forested Tahuya area to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and listed in serious condition. Adam says the girl fled into woods behind her home with the bow and arrows but a SWAT team surrounded her and arrested her for investigation of first-degree assault.

JAIL FREE CARDS BETTER THAN MONOPOLY'S

Reporting from Sacramento -- Computer errors prompted California prison officials to mistakenly release an estimated 450 inmates with "a high risk for violence" as unsupervised parolees in a program meant to ease overcrowding, according to the state's inspector general. More than 1,000 additional prisoners presenting a high risk of committing drug crimes, property crimes and other offenses were also let out, officials said. No attempt was made to return any of the offenders to state lockups or place them on supervised parole, said inspector general spokeswoman Renee Hansen. All of the prisoners were placed on "non-revocable parole," whose participants are not required to report to parole officers and can be sent back to prison only if caught committing a crime. The program was started in January 2010 for inmates judged to be at very low risk of reoffending, leaving parole agents free to focus on supervising higher-risk parolees. The revelations come two days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that California's prisons are dangerously overcrowded and upheld an earlier order that state officials find a way to reduce the 143,335-inmate population by roughly 33,000. The state has two years to comply. State Sen. Ted Lieu (D-Torrance), a former prosecutor who requested an investigation of the unsupervised-parole program, said the inspector general's report "confirms my worst fears" about it.

MAILMAN'S PRIORITY MAIL

Nutty News Portland, Oregon - A mail carrier who was caught using a yard as his personal toilet will not be fired. The incident happened last month at a home in southeast Portland and a neighbor, Don Derfler, captured the man in the act with his camera. Derfler had been waiting for his babysitter when he saw his mailman acting odd at his neighbor’s house across the street. The postal worker then pulled down his pants and that’s when Derfler began snapping pictures. The incident was an embarrassment to the post office and the worker was immediately placed on unpaid leave. Now, a decision has been made to keep the worker but he will be transferred to a different route.

obama's LIMOUSINES

Limousines, the very symbol of wealth and excess, are usually the domain of corporate executives and the rich. But the number of limos owned by Uncle Sam increased by 73 percent during the first two years of the Obama administration, according to an analysis of records by iWatch News
According to General Services Administration data, the number of limousines in the federal fleet increased from 238 in fiscal 2008, the last year of the George W. Bush administration, to 412 in 2010. Much of the 73 percent increase—111 of the 174 additional limos—took place in fiscal 2009, more than eight months of which corresponded with Obama’s first year in office.  However, some of those purchases could reflect requests made by the Bush administration during an appropriations process that would have begun in the spring of 2008

JUNIOR HIGH HOOTERS TRIP

(AP) BERWICK, Pa. (AP) — For one group of central Pennsylvania eighth-graders, a recent field trip to Baltimore included lunch at Hooters — a restaurant better known for its busty waitresses than its food. The Berwick Middle School students were visiting the National Aquarium last week. Chaperones took them to various restaurants for lunch because the group of 100 was too large for a single place. The Bloomsburg Press Enterprise reports Tuesday that one group of 15 to 20 students ended up at Hooters. Superintendent Wayne Brookhart says that while he wishes the group's coed chaperones had chosen another restaurant, he has not received any complaints from parents. Hooters spokesman Mike McNeil says the restaurant chain often hosts groups, including sports teams and church organizations with teens and younger children.

HELLO....., CAN YOU HEAR ME??

(AP) SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - Police in Maryland arrested a man after finding his cell phone charging at the scene of a burglary. Now Montgomery County police say 25-year-old Cody Wilkins has been charged in other burglaries. It began when a homeowner's son arrived as a burglar was going through rooms in the home Friday. Startled, the burglar jumped out a window and fled. The son called police, who searched the home and found a cell phone charging in an electric socket. The phone led police to Wilkins. Police say Wilkins' home was among those in the area that lost power last week when a snowstorm moved through. Arrest records say he's been linked to other break-ins. Wilkins was brought to a Montgomery County jail on $1 million bond. It wasn't clear if he has an attorney.

FUNNY TIOLET

FROGGER

(AP)  CLEMSON, South Carolina - A man has been hospitalized after police in South Carolina say he was hit by a sport utility vehicle while playing a real-life version of the video game "Frogger." Authorities said the 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital in Anderson after he was struck at around 9 p.m. Monday. In the "Frogger" arcade game, players move frogs through traffic on a busy road and through a hazard-filled river. Before he was hit, police say the man had been discussing the game with his friends. Chief Jimmy Dixon says the man yelled "go" and darted into oncoming traffic in the four-lane highway. No charges are expected against the driver. The name of the man who was struck has not been released. He was in stable condition Monday night.

BABY GETS FIRST TICKET

(AP)  LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) - Their son wasn't going to wait to be born, so John Coughlin rushed his laboring wife to the hospital. He called 911 when a state trooper tried to pull their car over, and the trooper turned the chase into an escort - then issued him a speeding ticket. Baby Kyle was born six minutes after the Coughlins arrived at the hospital in Manchester on Sept. 18. After that, Coughlin said the trooper congratulated him, then gave him a ticket for hitting 102 mph. A trial is scheduled for Monday and Coughlin is contesting the ticket. "I didn't realize how fast I was going until he gave me the ticket," Coughlin, of Londonderry, said Wednesday on ABC's "Good Morning America." He said he didn't want to plead guilty because "they said I could lose my license." Major Russell Conte said the trooper did the right thing. The speed limit on Interstate 293 was 55 mph, and he contended Coughlin put his wife, unborn child, himself and the public at risk. When Coughlin's wife, Angela, heard about ticket, she said she was shocked. "I thought it would get thrown out," she said.
Obviously he was not exaggerating!! And..it would not be more of a risk to have the baby born along the highway??
