CRAZY MURDERING KNIFE MOTHER

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) - Several knives were recovered at a gruesome scene in Southern California where a mother was arrested in the killing of her three young daughters and taken from the scene covered in blood and wearing only a blanket, authorities and witnesses said. But it's not clear how the three girls, who ranged in age from 3 years to 2 months old, were killed, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Dave Coleman said. Detectives were completing their investigation and clearing out of the scene Wednesday morning, more than 12 hours after the suspect's mother called them to the home in the unincorporated area near Torrance. "When they arrived, they were met by family members who told the deputies that a mother had killed her children," a Sheriff's Department statement said. Neighbors say the mother, identified by authorities as 30-year-old Carol Coronado, was taken from the scene covered in blood and naked except for a blanket. "She was full of blood on her face and arms," neighbor Ashley Madrid told the Daily Breeze newspaper. Coronado was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of murder, taken to a hospital for examination and then to a sheriff's station for booking. Authorities say she made no statement. Madrid said the children's grandmother told her that the woman had called earlier in the day and said that she was going crazy. She said the children's father was working on his car across the street when his mother-in-law discovered her daughter and the three children in a pool of blood on a bed. "I saw when they were bringing him out," Madrid said. "He was crying. He was crying, 'She killed my daughters!"

FECAL MATTER GIRLFRIEND

An Arizona woman was charged with child abuse after police say she forced her boyfriend's 3-year-old daughter to eat her own feces. Police say Nicole Candelaria, 27, held down the 3-year-old and forced her to consume excrement as punishment for defecating in the bathtub, according to ABC 7. Police arrested Candelaria on Saturday in Tempe, AZ Family reports. Candelaria reportedly lives with her boyfriend and watches his three children while he's at work. Her arrest came after the victim and her two sisters -- ages 3 and 5 -- told their mother about the incident, according to court documents obtained by the Phoenix New Times. Candelaria told police that the girls made the whole thing up, and that the three-year-old "lies often." However, doctors found that bruising on the girl's sides, legs, chest and back were consistent with claims that Candelaria held down the child

CONGRADULATIONS....NOT!!

MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) - A former student called in bomb threats to a Quinnipiac University's ommencement in Connecticut in a bid keep her family from learning that she wasn't graduating despite taking money for her education, according to police. Danielle Shea of Quincy, Massachusetts, was wearing a cap and gown when she was arrested Sunday inside the arena where the ceremony was taking place, Hamden police said. Police said she gave a detailed confession. The threats delayed the start of the ceremony for the College of Arts and Sciences by an hour and a half, and it was moved to a second location at the indoor athletic arena as a security precaution. Shea, 22, was arraigned Monday in Meriden Superior Court where bond was set at $10,000. Her attorney asked for her to be released on a promise to appear but the judge said he was troubled by the defendant's actions. Police said Shea didn't attend the university this year, but her mother paid thousands of dollars she thought was for her daughter's education. When graduation arrived, Shea panicked when relatives didn't see her name on the graduation roster and tried to have the ceremony canceled, they said. According to police, Shea made two calls to the university's public safety department. In the first, about 20 minutes before the start of the 6 p.m. graduation ceremony, she stated there was a "bomb in the library," said police. In the second call, about 20 minutes later, police said Shea warned that "several bombs are on campus" and noted, "You haven't cleared out graduation. That's not a good idea." Hamden and university police identified Shea using the telephone number she'd called from and then found her at the arena. She was arrested at the arena, the TD Bank Sports Center. She is charged with first degree threatening and falsely reporting an incident. Messages were left at her mother's home.
